But everyone wonders if it is really possible to surf safely on the internet and that is precisely what this article is about. What Is Internet Security? Within the operating rules and policies that are part of the management of the websites to which users have access, a series of parameters have been established in order to prevent and control unauthorized entry to the resources available within Internet. This is part of internet security and its goal is to maintain a level that allows users to enter each page without risks to their computer or the integrity of their personal information. Therefore, talking about security is having ways to prevent, protect and avoid unauthorized intrusion to private networks, such as corporate or ev...

IS YOUR ANTIVIRUS SOFTWARE WORKING?

How long have you installed your antivirus or security suite? How many times have you checked your antivirus software? Security products are designed for users who plan to set and forget them, but for best results you should check them from time to time.

Is your antivirus software working properly
Here Are Few Steps to Know That Your Antivirus Software Is Working Properly:

1. Keep your antivirus updated

In the early days of computer viruses, antivirus programs simply scanned files for signature patterns of known threats. These days, most malware coders make their code polymorphic, undetectable by simple pattern matching. And modern antivirus utilities use behavior-based detection systems, so they can stop malware they've never seen before. That said, simple malware signatures and behavioral detection patterns need frequent updates to keep up with evolving malware. Is your antivirus updated? Open it up and take a look at it. Do you see a message about the need to update the databases? Even if you don't, find the command that runs an on-demand search for updates. It couldn't hurt!

Also check if there is an update available for the program itself. In fact, check out all of your security products for available updates. You will usually find an option to check for updates in the File or Help menu, or in the menu that appears when you right-click the product icon in the notification area. By doing this, you may find that your subscription has expired; Renew immediately!

When you renew, consider signing up for automatic renewals. You will receive a notification email before the renewal takes place, so you can still change your mind. Automatic renewal offers you a promise of virus protection. When on auto-renew, the company promises to track down and remove any malware that passes basic virus protection.

2. Use the best antivirus software

Take a look at each of your security products and consider how you came to choose it. Did you see an ad on television? Did a friend suggest it? Did it come with the computer as a test and did you register when the test ended?

Just read all the details about the product what it provides, which securities are you getting and everything. Also read the reviews of people on their product

3. Check the sanity of your antivirus

If you want to check if your image recognition application can distinguish apples from oranges, you can put an apple (or an orange) in front and see if you get the correct result. Things are not that easy if you want to know if your antivirus can distinguish good software from malware. Most of us don't (and shouldn't) have malware on hand for that kind of sanity check.

That's where the EICAR test file comes into play. EICAR, formed in 1991, used to represent the European Institute for Computer Antivirus Research; more recently, the group dropped the acronym in favor of simply EICAR. The test file is a tiny program that antivirus vendors around the world have agreed to detect, although it is not malicious. Just check if your antivirus prevent the unauthorized downloads and will probably identify the "threat".

4. Get help from the Professionals

The best professionals from the team of best antivirus is always ready to help you with the motive of improving cybersecurity testing. At a high level, that means creating standards and fostering discussions between companies that create antivirus tools and companies that test those tools.

So, just check your antivirus from time to time to be safe and stay away from all the threats and cybercrimes or frauds.
