IS USING INTERNET SAFE?

As in all homes and in all families, there must be a series of rules and limits so that both the coexistence and the education of the children are correct. Regarding the use of the Internet at home, it should not be different, that is, there must also be a series of coherent rules and limits for the use of the same and thus, there is good security for everyone.
1. Do not give personal information under any circumstances
To begin with, it is necessary
for your child to know that he cannot give his personal information online
under any circumstances. There is no reason why you should give your address or
phone number online. You want to make sure your child knows that if they talk
to 16-year-olds online, it doesn't mean they are actually 16-year-olds.
2. Do not post personal photos or videos on the Internet
It is necessary that your
children know the importance of not publishing photos or videos of themselves
or personal ones on the Internet. Unfortunately, it is something that many
children do on social media. If this is not stopped, all people will see it,
even children and adolescents who can use these images for other purposes. This
can be dangerous, especially when other data - such as location or place of
study - is also disseminated. If your child wants to put photos or videos on
the Internet, be sure to check the privacy first.
3. Not meeting in person who you have met on the Internet
Make sure your child knows
that they are not allowed to meet someone they have met online. This is very
important because it is the way in which many children and adolescents are
victims of pedophiles and pedophiles. The people they talk to may be who they
say they are ... or not. If you really want to meet that person, do it
accompanied by another person, yourself and always in a public place full of
people like a cafeteria.
4. Rules with the use of devices at home
You need to set rules for the
use of Internet chat rooms and social networking websites. For starters, if you
don't want your child to use the Internet alone in their room, just don't let
them do it. Put the computer in a place of common use such as the dining room
or establish hours of Internet use, so that, for example, they do not have
access to it after 10 p.m. and you can use internet
security software that have parental control that will help you in keeping
an eye over your child.
5. Have all private profiles
If your child has social
networks and uses them regularly, it is necessary that they have all their private
profiles and that the people who access their images or videos are few and of
all trust. In addition, you should check that your child does not put personal
information, or phone numbers, or addresses, etc.
6. Maintain good communication and trust with your child
If you really want your child
to come to you when he / she has a problem on the Internet -or in life-, then
you should have good daily communication with him / her and above all, let him
/ her know that there is trust from you towards him / her and reverse. They
should know that you are their support in any circumstance and that if they
receive threats or strange messages, show it to you instead of deleting it.
This way you can report the facts to the police.
It is also necessary for your
child to know that these rules are not only to be applied on the home computer,
but must be used on any device they use that has Internet access.
